What Is the Instagram Reel Generator?
This free tool builds a clean, realistic Instagram Reel screen that you can edit and export as an image. It is meant for mockups, design references, social media previews and creative projects. The live 390 x 844 preview updates as you work, and the exported file is rendered at twice that size for a sharp 780 x 1688 JPG. No Instagram account is connected and no real post is created.
Add the Video Frame
Upload a still image to stand in for the Reel video. The tool accepts JPG, PNG and WebP files up to 8 MB and keeps the image inside your browser. When an image is present, the Background selector is replaced by Image Fit. Choose Fill Screen to cover the whole 9:16 frame, or Fit (Black Bars) to keep the entire image visible. Without an image, pick one of eight backgrounds, including Bloom, Sunset, Ocean and Electric.
Customize the Creator and Overlay
Set the username, upload a profile photo, and switch on the blue verified badge or the Following state. The caption supports hashtags and mentions with bold styling, and Shorten Long Text clamps it to one line. Add an audio label, likes, comments, reposts and shares, then choose whether the repost arrow appears. The Liked toggle changes the outline heart to Instagram red. You can also edit the status bar time and switch between the current and classic bottom navigation bars.
Export a Ready-to-Use Image
The preview and the download use the same drawing routine, so the exported image matches what you see. Download Image saves a 780 x 1688 JPG. Copy Image writes a PNG to the clipboard where the browser supports it. The export contains the phone screen only, not the editing controls, which makes it easy to drop into a deck, a mockup or a social media plan.
Private by Design
Uploads are read locally with the FileReader API and drawn with the Canvas API. Text, profile photos and video images are never sent to a server, stored in a database or shared with a third party. Reloading the page clears the current mockup. The tool does not require an account, a watermark or a subscription.
